How to Apply for SBI PO 2025 : Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Visit the Official Website:

Go to the official SBI careers portal:

Step 2: Click on “Current Openings”:
  • Under the “Join SBI” tab, find and click on “Current Openings”.
  • Locate the link for “Recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO)”.
  • Click on “Apply Online”.
Step 3: Register Yourself:
  • Click on “Click here for New Registration”.
  • Enter your Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, and Security Code.
  • A registration number and password will be sent to your email and phone.
Step 4: Fill the Application Form:

Log in using the registration details and fill in:

  • Personal details
  • Educational qualifications
  • Exam center preferences
  • Language preferences, etc.
Step 5: Upload Documents:

You will need to upload:

  • Passport-size Photograph (Recent, color, JPG/JPEG, 20–50 KB)
  • Signature (on white paper with black ink, JPG/JPEG, 10–20 KB)
  • Handwritten declaration (text as per SBI guidelines)
  • Left Thumb Impression (if asked)
Step 6: Pay Application Fee
  • Use debit card/credit card/net banking to pay the fee:
    • General/OBC/EWS: ₹750/-
    • SC/ST/PwBD: No fee
Step 7: Final Submission:
  • Preview all details carefully.
  • Submit the application.
  • Save and print the confirmation page and fee receipt.

SBI PO 2025 Selection Process Overview

The selection is done in 3 phases:


Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
  • Objective Test (Online) – Total: 100 marks, 1 hour
  • 3 sections (20 minutes each):

  • Personal Interview – 30 marks

Negative Marking:
  • ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer in Prelims and Mains (Objective Tests)

Final Selection Criteria:
  • Marks in Prelims not counted in final selection
  • Final merit list based on:
    • Phase-II (Mains): out of 250 (normalized to 75)
    • Phase-III (Interview/Group Exercise): out of 50 (normalized to 25)
      ➡️ Total = 100 Marks

Selection is made based on category-wise top merit ranks.
